Breakfast in Paradise - Delicious Banana and Coffee Daiquiri riff!
“Breakfast in Paradise”. With a name like that it best be good... thankfully it is! Bloody good in fact. Taking inspiration from mango daiquiris as they’re incredibly good I wanted to create something I could picture myself ordering at 10am from a beach bar with my favourite morning cake - banana bread, right before jumping on the board and going for a surf! To go with the banana bread there was no doubt that the drink needed a banana daiquiri base and then seeing as its the morning, we’re going to want that little kick of coffee, so I wanted to incorporate a coffee element. I didn’t just want it to be coffee though, it needed a boozy kick of its own and something to balance the bitterness that would really offset the sweetness of the daiquiri beneath, so I decided to use Kahlua and Licor 43 to create a sort of vanilla coffee hybrid to sit on top of the drink and it just works fantastically well! Ingredients: For the Banana Daiquiri Base: Bumbu Rum 2 oz Banana Liqueur 1 oz Cinnamon Syrup 1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice 1/2 oz Simple Syrup 1/2 oz Ice 1 Scoop For the Coffee Float: Espresso 1 Shot Kahlua 3/4 oz Licor 43 3/4 oz Simple Syrup 1/2 oz ENJOY AND...
