“THE MOTLEY CRU”
2013 Vintage of Sparkling Classic Cuvée
THE MOTLEY CRU 2013 Vintage of Sparkling Wine is made from a classic blend (Cuvée) of the three traditional "Champagne” Grape varieties including 48% Chardonnay, 36% Pinot Noir and 16% Pinot Meunier. The grapes were hand picked in 2011 and gently pressed in whole bunches. This wine has been aged for over 3 years on it's yeast lees. Aromas of brioche and toast yield to ripe stone fruit and subtle toasty notes and a classy finish.
The story behind the name “Motley Cru”….
This Sparkling Classic Cuvee was named THE MOTLEY CRU in honour of the Rugby players from a National Rugby Team who helped to plant 15,000 NEW Vines in 2018, along with the rest of the team here at Kenton Park Estate, a truly “motley crew”. Discover more at RUGBYintoWINE.com.
The humorous antics of our Pheasants, who roam freely over the Estate are captured as illustrations and have become the Brand Ambassadors for Kenton Park Estate including “Ferris" our Racing Driver Pheasant.
The Motley Cru Classic Cuvée was made to honour the motley crew of rugby players and families alike that helped with our vineyard planting. Here at Kenton Park Estate we aren't your typical bunch of winemakers... quite the opposite and we pride ourselves on it.
The grapes were hand picked from Vines planted in 2011 and pressed as whole bunches of grapes and then fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks. The Wine was bottled in September 2014 and released in June 2016.
